Sports Day

The weather was promised to be beautiful...and then it rained, and rained, and stopped long enough for us to run a few races, and then started back up again. But it was totally worth slippy grass, and some trips and falls because the boys and girls across the whole school had an amazing time! Check out our warm-up dancing:

Ms Byrne had everyone practice the whole-school races earlier this week, because the school was split up into 3 teams - yellow, blue and red. Each child wasn't running races to win for themselves, they were running to win for their team! I'm still totting up the scores now in my office because there were so many races and so much fast footwork it was hard to keep up, but we'll have the results on Monday (I promise!). Click through the slide-show below for some of the lovely moments today:

When the Junior & Senior Infants left for the afternoon, the Senior End played Tug-of-War against their parents!!! I'll give you a guess who won :)

At the end of the day, we all repeated our amazing warm up songs (thanks dancers!) and had an ice cream each to cool down. So much fun! Thanks to all the volunteer parents, past pupils and friends who came to help and to all the mams, dads, grannies, grandads, aunties and uncles who came to show your support for our wonderful students. We are so grateful.
