We had a wonderful school tour at Festina Lente in Bray. We enjoyed so many fun, exciting and interesting activities like; grooming ponies, making slime, making soap, decorating flower pots, going on a scavenger hunt in beautiful gardens and storytelling and mindful eating. A great day was had by all! Thanks to all at Festina Lente!
3rd Class/4th Class
We have been learning all about the rainforests in Geography and Science class. Did you know that approximately one quarter of the world's medicines come from plants in the rainforests? We all agreed that it is so important to respect and protect these amazing natural habitats and all the wonderful plants and animals that live there. As part of our Art class we chose a rainforest animal and brought it to life by drawing it and really focussing on attention to detail and shades of colour. Maybe some of us will be lucky enough to visit the rainforests one day!
We had a fantastic and very active time during Active Schools Week with the whole school. We went on a lovely 'Walk a Mile with a Smile', had a wonderful Sports Day (thanks Ms Finnegan), participated in a Tug of War and a 'Run Around Europe Challenge' (thanks Ms McArdle). We LOVE being active. We also learned about a healthy mind and the importance of a balanced diet in SPHE class.
Summer has arrived! We have been making the most of the lovely warm and sunny weather to do some of our lessons, and have our lunch, outside. We love our outdoor classroom!
We are reading The Railway Children by E. Nesbit as our class novel at the moment. We are really enjoying the many exciting adventures that the children in the story have and the message of kindness in this novel. During our art lessons we constructed our own trains with Mr. Hanley and we really enjoyed designing, making and decorating our colourful creations!.
