3rd Class/4th Class
We learned about magnestism in science class and we made our own compasses. We magnetised a needle and placed it on a cork disc floating in water. We were amazed that the needle turned towards the north. We think that science is exciting and fascinating!
We made lovely clay coil pots during art class. We loved working with the clay and seeing our pots take shape. We think they turned out very well!
We learned all about rivers in Geography and Science class and decided to go out for a walk by the River Dodder with 5th and 6th class to explore for ourselves. We had a lovely time. We saw beautiful willow trees, ducks and we were even lucky enough to spot a fox enjoying the sunshine. It was great to focus on the sights and sounds of the wonderful natural world around us!
We learned all about symmetry in Maths class and then in Art class we made these super symmetrical self-portraits. We focussed on our sketching skills and shading to make our pictures look as symmetrical as possible.
We did some lovely descriptive writing this term. We selected someone (or a pet) to write a descriptive piece on. We used lots of adjectives and similes to make our descriptions more interesting and detailed. We really enjoyed listening to each other's work and visualising the person (or pet) described.
