A Nature Scavenger Hunt!

A Nature Scavenger Hunt!

Today 1st and 2nd Class partnered up and went in search of a list of materials from our school grounds - we had to find feathers, weeds, sticks and stones and lots more! We then had to categorise them by texture and colour. We had a great time and cooperated very well together- have a look!

Our Visit to Lullymore Heritage Park

Our Visit to Lullymore Heritage Park

We had a wonderful time on our school tour to Lullymore today. We had a picnic, saw lots of different farm animals, looked inside old-fashioned Irish cottages, went on a walk through the woods and the bog, visited a fairy town and a crannóg, made a wish at the wishing tree, went on a train ride, and had lots of fun at the indoor adventure centre and outdoor playground. We learned lots about history, geography, and science throughout the day and enjoyed every minute! We'd like to say a big thank you to Kevin at Lullymore for being a fantastic guide.

Tug of War

Tug of War

As part of Active Week, our class participated in a training session delivered by the Irish Tug of War Association. We learned how to conduct a contest, how to stand and hold the rope, and that the most important part of the body to use in a tug of war competition is your legs (not your arms!). We'd like to say thanks to Cathy for teaching us and for giving us a tug of war rope for the school, and to Ms McArdle for organising the visit.
