On the 18th February, the staff and pupils of Stratford College organised a friendship day for the pupils of Stratford National School. Each class went over the secondary school hall, where the children played games, had their faces painted, made artwork and played a guessing game of 'How Many Sweets are in the Jar'.
We would like to thank Stratford College for extending the hand of friendship to us all in Stratford NS by planning this great morning for us!
For Engineers week (2nd-6th March), the children worked in teams to plan, design and make rollercoasters.
Each group started with the same materials:
- Kitchen Rolls
- Paper Plates
- Masking Tape
- 2 Toy Cars
Each group came up with a unique idea and the roller-coasters were fantastic! This project was a great opportunity to practice collaboative, creative and problem-solving skills, and most importantly, have fun!
We have been learning Irish Dancing with the lovely Benina. We had such a great time. Thank you Benina!
We have been learning all about different types of homes for people and animals. We went out for a walk in the locality and really enjoyed spotting all the different houses we could see. We also made our own houses and had so much fun presenting them to our class and showing them to our friends!
We held a special fundraising book sale for the Childhood Cancer Foundation this week. All the different classes got the chance to donate and buy books for this worthy cause. Well done and a big thank you to Rachel, Aleksandra, Lily, Christine, Aoife, Elsa, Claudia, & Gali in 5th and 6th class who organised the fundraiser with such thoughtfulness, care and efficiency.
