Principal’s Welcome Message

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Stratford National School. This school, established in 1934, relocated in 1980 to its present location in Rathgar sharing a campus with Stratford College.

This is a vibrant, welcoming school where high standards in education and participation are fostered and promoted under the patronage of the Dublin Talmud Torah.  Stratford NS is Ireland’s only Jewish primary school and provides pupils with an education within a Jewish ethos. The Trustees, Board of Management, staff, Parents’ Association, parents and pupils all work closely together to achieve the school’s mission. The goal of the school is to educate the students in an inclusive, exemplary, academic environment that promotes the ethics and values of the Jewish people, while simultaneously teaching Irish heritage.  It aims to foster in young people a keen sense of compassion, of commitment to lifelong learning, of respect for diversity and of service to the community.

The children take great pride in their own school and in their accomplishments. Our school offers a broad curriculum and our staff develop and nurture the potential of all children recognising talents and gifts.   Every child from 3rd to 6th class can play a musical instrument, including the descant recorder and tin-whistle.   Our objective is that each child will fully participate in the many school and extracurricular activities including computer coding, music, drama, art, sport, zumba and yoga.

I now invite you to visit our website to gain a greater insight into the many activities of the vibrant learning community of Stratford NS.

Kind regards,

Helen Heneghan PhD.
